About Undercut

Who makes it

Undercut is designed and built by Walter Castillo, a Formula 1 fan, as an independent project.

Where the data comes from

Times, timing, positions, telemetry, weather and radio come from OpenF1, an open API that publishes Formula 1 data. The analyses (clean pace, prediction, simulator, excitement index) are computed by the app and each view explains its assumptions.

Privacy

• No accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies.
• Your favourites, notebook notes and preferences are stored only in your browser (localStorage). You can export or delete them whenever you like.
• The app requests data directly from OpenF1 in your browser; radio audio plays from Formula 1's servers.
• Reminders use your browser's notifications and only if you turn them on. So they can arrive with the app closed, an anonymous subscription (no name or email) with your lead time and chosen sessions is stored on the server; it's deleted when you turn them off.
• Visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, without cookies or personal identifiers: only page views, country and device type, in aggregate.
